Hi Andrea,
We never met but I am Andy Mann’s sister. Every once in a while I google Andy to see if there is any activity and today I was pleased to see your blog. I am going to forward this to my kids and brothers.
I am thrilled that they once again put up Andy’s Video Tree.
Keep me posted as to any other events that you might have with respect to him. I am grateful that his death did not mean the end of his recognition.
He was a complicated guy but I loved him a great deal and miss him.

Alex, I am going to track down Mars Trilogy. Thanks for the suggestion. I also recommend a non-fiction book by Marshall Savage: The Millennial Project: Colonizing the Galaxy in Eight Easy Steps. My copy is on loan to the exhibition. I am *optimistic* we will meet in the future.

All this alt-future optimism makes me think of Kim Stanley Robinson's incredible Mars Trilogy, easily the last, great optimistic masterpiece of science fiction. A collective future? Yes please.

I love this show (sadly from afar). Thanks for posting your essay.

This looks like it is going to be amazing… hope I can make it to Pittsburgh at some point this fall and check it out! Interesting to compare it with the LA 2019 show from earlier this summer…
